Saba Run Cycle by Tazihound Saba Run Cycle by Tazihound
-Edited-
Thank you all for the help!

This is the first 4 legged run cycle I've attempted, and although there are errors (tracking on markings and chest are off, stiff body, eye trace, and weird things going on with dragging elements) I am happy with it. I decided to animated on 1s (15 frames) but I think I'd try 8 frames on 2s next time to avoid jittering. I chose Saba because I think she'd have pretty generic run cycle and I wanted to start somewhere basic. Any constructive critiques are appreciated!

Hi guys, I need help with exporting gifs correctly from photoshop. I can't get the gif to run at the right frame rate-it's always too slow.  It seems to export fine from flash but the quality is horrid. Does anyone know how to fix this or has a better way to save gifs?

Thank you!

well the first step is to find good reference, usually I'll look at youtube for that, then I download the file and look at each individual pose. From there I look at three things: the major positions of the chest, legs, and dragging elements (such as tail, head, jaw, ect.) I mark the 'up' positions and the 'down' positions, then sketch those in PS. These are the major position that the character takes. The rest is inbetweening those poses. I hope this makes sense xP I would recommend Richard Willaim's Animator Survival Kit if you'd like to learn more, because I'm no expert xD
